Core function of Ceteareth-20 (nonionic surfactant)
Ceteareth - 20 is non ionic fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, solid, easily soluble in hot water, acid and alkali resistant hard water, high HLB hydrophilic type.
Five Major Fundamental Performance Metrics
1. Even dyeing/gradual dyeing: Adsorb dyes, control dyeing speed, prevent color unevenness, most commonly used in printing and dyeing
2. Emulsification: Emulsify mineral oil, paraffin, animal and vegetable oils, and waxes to stabilize oil-in-water emulsions
3. Wetting and penetration: Reduce surface tension to enable rapid infiltration of liquids into fibers and solid powders
4. Dispersant: Breaks down aggregated dye/pigment particles to prevent sedimentation and clumping
5. Deep cleaning and stain removal + anti-static: Wash away oil stains and dye residues, reducing static-induced pilling in synthetic fibers
Industry Applications
1.Textile Printing and Dyeing (Specialized)
Dyeing: Leveling agent, slow dyeing agent, color stripping agent, high-temperature leveling for direct/reducing/ reactive dyes, prevents color difference, enhances color fastness, brightens and intensifies color
- Printing: Semi-protective agent, washing agent, post-printing cleaning agent, whitening agent
- Pretreatment: Raw wool, cotton, and hemp scouring agents; chemical fiber spinning oil agent raw materials (polyester/nylon), lubrication + anti-static
2. Household Chemicals / Cosmetics
Creams, lotions, hair care products (oil-in-water emulsifiers); laundry detergents, industrial detergent raw materials, hard water-resistant, easily biodegradable.
3. Chemical Industry and Rubber & Plastic
Latex, emulsion, polymer emulsifier; rubber, coating, adhesive additive (paste A, FD adhesive)
- Emulsifier for glass fiber drawing oil, paraffin emulsification, and mineral oil emulsification to prepare lubricating liquid
4. Industrial Cleaning & Metal Processing
Metal degreaser, mechanical oil stain cleaner; pre-plating degreasing additive.

Pesticide emulsifiable concentrate penetration aid (enhances leaf surface adhesion and absorption); paper deinking agent, pulp wetting agent.
Key Features
A milky white solid, readily soluble in hot water; resistant to acids, alkalis, hard water, and heat, with a stable high-temperature dyeing system. The turbidity point ranges from 86 to 91°C (5% NaCl).
Reference Addition Amount
Printing and dyeing uniformity: 0.2%～1% (based on fabric weight)
Oil emulsification: 3% to 8% (by oil phase mass)
Industrial degreasing: 1% to 3% (working solution)
