Hydrogenated castor oil is a chemical substance that is a white to pale yellow powder, block or sheet.

It plays a role in thickening, hardening, and sustained-release in formulations, and is therefore used as a thickening agent, hardening agent, and sustained-release agent for the preparation of semi-solid and solid formulations.

It is mainly used as a hardening agent in ointments, creams, and suppositories to regulate the viscosity of the formulation;

In oral formulations, it is mainly used to prepare sustained-release tablets and capsules,

It can also be used as a coating film or form a solid skeleton, playing a role in sustained or controlled release; It can also be used as a lubricant for tablets and capsules to improve the flowability of particles.

Modified castor oil products are prone to decomposition in nature and do not leave any residue. The performance of the product may vary slightly depending on the type of epoxy used (PEG-40, PEG-60, PEG-80).

PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil is a commonly used solubilizer, which can evenly disperse oily substances such as essence and essential oil into water to form a stable and transparent solution.

The starting material comes from the natural plant - hydrogenated castor oil, which is biodegradable in nature and suitable for industries such as agriculture, coatings, daily chemicals, water-based inks, textiles, printing and dyeing, papermaking, etc.

PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil solubilizer is a viscous liquid or paste; It is an excellent non-ionic solubilizer and emulsifier; It has wide pH stability, low foam, and can form a clear mixture with acid and alcohol at high temperature.

It can be used to solubilize essential oils and synthetic fragrances in water or alcohol solutions. When in use, this product can be mixed with the desired solubilizing substance in a ratio of 1:1-3 and stirred evenly until transparent. Can be used as a medical grade solubilizer.

Hydrogenated castor oil is used as a lubricant, surfactant, emulsifier, and cosolvent. When added to toner products, it becomes smoother and even has considerable foaming properties.

When the content in toner is mostly below 1%, generally healthy skin will not feel irritated by this concentration. However, when the skin is injured, inflamed, rash, or has thin keratin, some soluble agents may cause stinging and itching.

Hydrogenated castor oil can be used as a lubricant for tablets. Although its lubricating effect is not as good as magnesium stearate, hydrogenated castor oil is a very good choice for a small number of tablets that produce sticking during the compression process. For example, hydrogenated castor oil is needed as a lubricant for clopidogrel hydrogen sulfate tablets.

In fact, most drugs with strong J properties (hydrophilic drugs) and drugs that are prone to causing flower spots during the tablet pressing process can use hydrogenated castor oil as a lubricant, which can not only provide lubrication, but also prevent sticking and flushing, and have a hydrophobic effect, making it less prone to flower spots.

Hydrogenated castor oil is generally used as a lubricant by external addition, with a dosage of 0.2% -2%
